A Word About Me

Hey Everyone! Welcome to the Art Daily. Through this blog I will be bringing you one work of art a day, five days a week. They will range from my personal favorites to seminal works in art history to pieces that are making the headlines. Anything goes!

I graduated with honors from the Department of Art History and the Department of European Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I have studied art all my life and traveled the world to see it. I also spent a year-abroad in Florence, Italy during my time at university where I saw as much art as I consumed pasta. I have worked in the art world for six years now with positions at the Hosfelt Gallery in San Francisco, Sotheby's in New York and the Villa I Tatti (Harvard's Renaissance Center) in Florence. I now work for a dealer of Old Master Paintings in New York City.

Through this blog, I hope to share some of my love of art history and the objects I study with everyone. In speaking to my friends recently I have realized that while many people love looking at art, very few know much about the objects they have seen for years or where to start if they want to learn. I hope this blog will be helpful to anyone who seeks to learn about art in its various settings and enjoyable to anyone who knows about art but just wants to be exposed to new ideas or objects.
